Christmas Care runs completely by volunteer help. You can help pack, wrap, cook, transport, deliver, sort, register, and so much more. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Our program exists due to the generosity of the public, schools, churches, businesses and many individuals that donate toys, food, money and many items, as well as their time. Since 1980 we have been assisting the lower income public of St. Thomas-Elgin to register themselves and/or their family for a little support that is meant directly for the Christmas season. We provide a hamper of food which includes cereal, cookies, canned goods, apples, potatoes as well as their choice of either turkey or ham, in order to make a complete Christmas dinner. A “Sponsor-A-Family” program allows you, the donator, to actually shop for the family you have been assigned. This would cost you approximately $200 to provide all the necessary groceries and toys for the children in that family. This is a great teaching tool for the young children in your home as well as an alternative to purchasing gifts for each other that you may not need or want.
Our program depends on our dedicated volunteers and the much needed assistance from the militia that we receive. Without these volunteers, we could not operate a successful program. As always, our need seems to be greater than our donations. Please help Christmas Care continue to help our community!
